Scientists recently "re-discovered" living specimens of the Spaghetti Tree in a remote region of the Swiss Alps. The trees were thought to have gone extinct in the early 60's, due to the intense demand for spaghetti, once spaghetti had gained in global popularity. With modern breeding and cloning techniques, scientists believe that in the near future these trees will be widely available at most local nurseries. Each tree is expected to produce about 400 pounds of spaghetti annually.
